While small businesses do realize the importance of being listed on directories through which potential clients and customers can reach out to them, they often fail to update their contact details whenever there is some change. As a small business owner, it is imperative that you not only ensure your presence on directory listings, you also make sure that all the contact details mentioned there are up-to-date as well as currently relevant.

The realization of the importance of directory listings has definitely got a significant boost, post the emergence of globally renowned directories such as Craigslist. The fact that these directories exist online – a world where your own geographical location as well as that of your potential customers ceases to make a difference in terms of respective reach to one another, makes them that much more popular.

Having said that, many businesses, while ensuring their presence on these listings, fail to update their contact details, whenever there is a change in them. No doubt, your own website should definitely be very high priority when it comes to the aforementioned updating. This should be followed by any and every other listing which is critical to your business; which you know to be a source of constant business – for your business!
