Business coaching comes easy to those with significant corporate experience

If you have spent sufficient number of years in the corporate industry, say 15 to 20 years and above, at least half or more of which have been in senior executive positions, then you are very well entrenched to take on the mantle of a business coach. After all, most business coaches, if you see, essentially refine all of their own learning as made over the years of their corporate journey, into imparting relevant corporate education and training to those who are in need of the same.

So does that mean that those without any corporate experience cannot really function as business coaches themselves? No, that is not necessarily the case. But at the same time, when it comes to imparting business coaching, those with sufficient corporate experience certainly have the edge. That said army personnel as well as government employees, especially those in senior administrative positions are definitely very well entrenched to take on the mantle of an expert business coach.

Ultimately, the general observation has been that when it comes to business coaches, at least some level of corporate or administrative experience certainly lends an edge. There is a much needed level of confidence that comes in; there is also the vital element of credibility that is established; clients view business coaches with corporate and/or administrative experience as better equipped to handle their own requirements as far as business coaching is concerned; they also feel that these are the persons who have the much needed credibility and authority to help them with diverse situations, since they themselves have either experienced the same in their own corporate lives or have faced the same while assisting other clients.

That is the reason, those at the fag end of their corporate stints or perhaps already retired from the same, could very well consider a career as a business coach; remember that the inspiration need not always be monetary; in fact in a lot of cases, business coaches are not into the profession because of the financial gains that they are likely to make out of it; rather they are there because it lends them with intrinsic satisfaction as well as gives them a sense of meaningfulness as far as leading a more enriching and fulfilling life is concerned, whereby they are also able to add value to the lives of others.
