Painting with Words
A man named Walter Keane first introduced the concept of painting with words to me. He is a writer and artist whose works have been displayed all over the world. I met him when I was in a coffee shop, working on this book. We talked for only a few minutes because he was waiting for another person to arrive.
He came over to the table where I was sitting and asked me what I was working on. I told him about this book and asked for his input regarding the layout and design. He suggested that I consider reducing the number of pictures that were part of the first draft, and focus on painting a picture with my words.
I decided to take his advice and redesign this book. More importantly, my purpose in sharing this story with you is to get you to think about the idea of painting with your words. If you enjoy writing, I encourage you to “paint with your words.” Your words can have a powerful effect on others with the pictures they paint!
