Lessons from a 3 foot giant about overcoming obstacles
I received an email from a friend of mine who sent me a link to this video and many others like it. A group of transformational leaders were a part of a movement called “Engage Today” event which was held in Canada. I’ve included a brief excerpt from their blog to give you a sample of what Sean talked about during the event. After watching this video I found myself re-examining my priorities. I also experienced a transformational shift in my mindset in terms of what success really means to me, and what’s truly possible for my life.I am sharing this with you today because I think the world needs more people like Sean out there inspiring others to unleash their greatness. I ask each of you to think about the following questions. How will you change your world today? How will you change the world today? What actions will you take today to overcome obstacles in order to reach your goals and dreams. How will you connect with others in the world today? How will you make a difference in lives of other people? Will you leave a legacy behind after you die?
It’s your time to shine! I hope you are inspired to unleash your greatness, as I was, after hearing Sean and several other transformational thought leaders speak. This is an excerpt from their blog, which sums it up very well….
Inspiring Your Greatness!

“Engage Today 2009″ Excerpt
“If you’re letting excuses hold you back from getting what you want, this video training with Sean Stephenson is exactly what you need. Talk about an inspiring guy who kicks your excuses a kick in the butt!
Known as the 3 Foot Giant (because he’s literally only 3 feet tall), Sean Stephenson was supposed to die at birth. Diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, he defied the odds simply by living. Born with a condition that makes his bones as brittle as toothpicks, he endured more than 200 broken bones in his first several years of life.
Sean has all the good ‘reasons’ in the world to be a victim, and have people feel sorry for him. He was going to be taken care of by others for his entire life.
Until he decided that he wasn’t going to stand for that.
Sean is a true role model of the spirit of the human race, and he’s inspired millions of people around the world to Take a Stand, and get off their ‘but’.
In this remarkable and touching video, Sean reveals:
-
How to keep moving forward, even against painful and frightening obstacles
-
What we all share in common, regardless of who we are (and how to harness those commonalities)
-
What it is that keeps us from achieving our dreams and desires
-
Why connection is so important, and how to achieve it with those that matter to you
Sean’s presentation was one of the most popular sessions at the 4 day Engage Today event, and I’m pretty sure if you’ve never heard of him before, Sean’s going to be a new role model and mentor for you”. Here is the link to the video http://www.EngageToday2009.com/engageblog. I hope it inspires you and shifts your thinking.
