I am frequently approached by many people who ask me about some the benefits of working with a life coach. You many also wonder what the specific role of the coach is, as well as some of the coaching issues, and some of the results you can expect to achieve by working with a life coach.

One of the premier and well respected life coaching organizations (International Coaching Federation) conducted a study on why people work with coaches, and what benefits they received from working with a life coach.

Time management, career guidance, and business advice are the major coaching issues that clients look for help with. The areas of relationships, family, wellness and spirituality had lower percentages, but were still very significant to the clients that they surveyed.

The top four benefits that clients most often attribute to their coaching were in the areas of self-awareness, self-confidence, balance,  goal-setting and reduced stress levels. As you can see from the list below, there are many of benefits of working with a life coach:

What is the “Value” of The Coaching Investment?

According to the study conducted by the International Coaching Federation, 98.5% of coaching clients said their investment in a life coach was valuable and well worth the money that they had invested. Here is a breakdown of the specific percentages.

  • 70% of clients said their investment in a coach was very valuable.
  • 28.5% said their investment was valuable.
  • 1.5% said their investment in a coach had not been valuable.
